Sharps, Flats and Naturals

A SHARP # raises up a note by one half step or one fret on guitar. A FLAT b lowers a note one half step or one fret on guitar. A NATURAL SIGN cancels out a previously used sharp or flat and returns the note back to its natural position.  

Make sure you use the correct finger on the fret for each sharp or flat note.
